The education system operates as a unique pillar of Canadian society, with special rules and unique requirements framed by a plethora of important legal issues. And now, as Canadians turn to the classroom to be educated, so too can their legal advisers turn to the Halsbury's Education title for a clear understanding of the nuanced issues. Topics covered include:
- The right and compulsory duty to attend school
- Residency requirements

- Application of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
- Denominational schools
- Language of instruction
- First Nations children
- Discrimination within the school system
- Conduct and discipline
- The constitutional and statutory framework of post-secondary education
Trevor Knight, B.A. (Hons.), LL.B., LL.M & Sheila Nemet-Brown, B.A. (Hons.), LL.B.
