Designed as a valuable tool for practitioners and students alike, this text offers an introduction to understanding and applying the New Brunswick Business Corporations Act. By incorporating commentary related to the key provisions of the Act as well as a brief discussion of the history of the legislation, author Michael Tripp delivers valuable insight into the statute that is pivotal to the practice of corporate law in the province of New Brunswick.
An invaluable resource
This book features commentary on the entire New Brunswick Business Corporations Act in both official languages, making it invaluable to the English- and French-speaking populations of the province. In addition, this reference manual conveniently includes the full text of the Act and its related regulations, as well as a number of other highly relevant statutes and regulations: Limited Partnership Act, Limited Partnership Act Regulations, Partnership Act, Partnership Act Regulations, Partnerships and Business Names Registration Act, Partnerships and Business Names Registration Act Regulations, Securities Transfer Act, Winding-up Act and Winding-up Act Regulations.
The side-by-side presentation of these official bilingual versions of the legislation enables readers to easily compare the French and English texts so they can determine which offers the most favorable interpretation of the Business Corporations Act – a standard practice that lawyers use when interpreting bilingual legislation.
Finally, the Table of Concordance will prove invaluable to corporate law students and practitioners who are interested in comparing similar sections between the New Brunswick Business Corporations Act and the equivalent federal and Ontario legislation. Practitioners representing corporations and other clients operating in multiple jurisdictions will find this feature particularly useful.
