Product description

LexisNexis® Canada is pleased to announce the new edition of a publication that users have come to rely upon to provide essential information in the rapidly-changing nexus between the law, healthcare and technology - Electronic Healthcare Law Review (formerly Telehealth Law Journal).

In his forward to Electronic Healthcare Law Review, Vol. 1, No. 1, General Editor Domenic Crolla states the raison d'être for the relaunch of this important journal:

"It has become clearer than ever that technology is advancing more rapidly than the healthcare and legal disciplines can identify and address the issues raised by the new technologies. Given that expanding use of technology in healthcare, it is our intent to move the journal beyond the narrower focus of telehealth. From telehealth to electronic health records to privacy, we will address - in the relaunch of Telehealth Law Journal as the Electronic Healthcare Law Review - the diverse legal issues arising from the intersection of information technology and healthcare. This will include an exploration of how technological innovation in patient care gives rise to new and challenging legal issues for healthcare providers, healthcare administrators, governments and government agencies, and their advisors."

In order to achieve these aims, Mr. Crolla has assembled a multi-disciplinary group of professionals who represent a cross-section of the medical-legal disciplines.

Electronic Healthcare Law Review will continue to offer exclusive insights into the many applications of technology in the health information and services context - including audio/visual linkages between physicians and patients in different locations. Regular features include:

  • In-depth articles, written by experienced legal and health care professionals, providing much-needed guidance for planning and research purposes
  • Updates on emerging trends in how telehealth services are delivered and marketed
  • Review of Canadian and international efforts to regulate the emerging issues
  • Comments on recent court decisions that are binding or persuasive authorities
