Mortgages

Joseph E. Roach, B.A.(S.C.), B.Ed.(N.B.), LL.B., is Emeritus Professor of Law and a graduate of the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa, where he has been teaching property law, landlord and tenant law, and mortgage law for more than 40 years. He was the first Director of the French Common Law Program created at the University of Ottawa in 1977, and has played a key role in its development ever since, especially with respect to the French property law terminology. He has published books in both French and English on mortgage law including The Canadian Law of Mortgages, 2^nd Edition, Les hypothèques immobilières en Common Law, and Le droit des propriétaires et locataires en common law.

Motor Vehicles

Phil Langlotz, B.A., LL.B., is a lawyer and prosecutor in Guelph, Ontario. He received his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall in 1992 and was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1994. Mr. Langlotz has prosecuted motor vehicle and other provincial offences on behalf of the Crown and numerous municipalities in Ontario for several years. He has also appeared as defence counsel on a variety of criminal and provincial offences at all levels of Ontario court. Prior to his contribution to Halsbury’s Laws of Canada Motor Vehicles, Mr. Langlotz was a contributing editor to Halsbury’s Laws of Canada Environment and editor of the Canada Criminal Sentencing Digest.
