    The Honourable Mr. Justice Allen M. Linden, Lewis N. Klar, Q.C., B.A., B.C.L., LL.M. & Bruce Feldthusen, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., S.J.D.


    The Honourable Mr. Justice Allen M. Linden is currently a Justice of the Canadian Federal Court of Appeal. From 1983 to 1990 he served as President of the Law Reform Commission of Canada. He sat as a trial judge of the Ontario High Court of Justice from 1978 to 1983, was a Professor of tort law at Osgoode Hall from 1961 to 1978, and he continues to teach part-time at Pepperdine University, School of Law in California. Justice Linden is also the co-author of Canadian Tort Law, 8th Edition with Bruce Feldthusen and co-author, with Stephen E. Firestone, of Butterworths Ontario Motor Vehicle Insurance Practice Manual.

    Lewis N. Klar, Q.C., B.A., B.C.L., LL.M., is a Professor of Law at the University of Alberta, where he specializes in tort and insurance law. He was the Dean of Law from 1997 to 2002. He was admitted to the Bar of the province of Quebec in 1971 and the Law Society of Alberta in 2000. He was awarded a Queen’s Counsel in 2002, and received the Distinguished Service Award for his contribution to legal scholarship from the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta) in 2005. In 2007, Professor Klar received the J. Gordin Kaplan Award for Excellence in Research from the University of Alberta. This is the university’s most senior and prestigious research award. Professor Klar is an elected member of the American Law Institute and a member of the Alberta Auto Insurance Rate Board. His works have been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada, the courts in every province in Canada, the British House of Lords, and the Australian High Court.

    Bruce Feldthusen, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., S.J.D., is Dean and Professor of law at the University of Ottawa. Bruce Feldthusen is best known for his internationally recognized treatise Economic Negligence, now in its fifth edition, relied upon frequently by the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also published extensively about the law of personal injury and punitive damages, and about the use of tort law to advance the interests of survivors of sexual abuse.
